Detox Naturally, Every Now and Then

Detoxification, for an addict, is the withdrawal period during which organisms return to homeostasis (i.e. normal condition) after being used to addictive substances over a long period.

Whether it is a natural detox for alcohol and drugs or other conventional methods a treatment center opts for, the purpose is to get the body rid of the toxins. Detoxification helps the organs return to a normal healthy state.

However, it is not only addicts who require a detoxification process, even addiction free people need a detoxification of the body every now and then. A normal person who abstains from addictive substances also needs a good cleansing of the digestive track, kidneys, liver and the gall bladder.

So, how do you go about the detoxification process?

One of the best ways to flush out toxins from the system is following the natural path. These ‘available at your finger tips’ methods, can be tried out on your own without any expert intervention. Let us explore a few of them:

Drink fresh water: Water is considered your most natural internal cleanser. Drink plenty of water during the course of the day and it will help you in more ways than one. Not only it helps you flush out toxins, it also helps in digestion and other metabolism. Once you imbibe this habit of drinking water most things would be taken care of, naturally.

Exercise: Exercise is natural to every animal including humans. It is a great way to circulate the lymphatic system. Brisk walking, jogging, roping, jumping or doing yoga is fantastic for the lymphatic system. More than evacuating our bowels, it is through our breath we eliminate a greater amount of toxins from the system. So when you exercise, you breathe heavily, releasing toxins in the process. You can also try squatting which activates the eliminating organs and produce beneficial hormones.

Massage: Whenever the word ‘massage’ pops up it brings an instant thought of rejuvenation, replenishment and an elated feeling of being energized. It is true in every sense because massage oxygenates the tissues, release toxins from the muscles and facilitate flow of blood and lymph throughout the body. A good massage removes waste products from the cells and strengthens the immune system.

Eat garlic: Eating raw garlic also releases toxins from the body. Besides, it has other benefits also, like regulating blood pressure in a person. If you consume two cloves of garlic every morning, it lowers your blood pressure.

Epsom salts bath: Mix Epsom salts into the water in your bathtub and bath at least for forty minutes in the tub. It will exfoliate your tissues and allow your body to soak in the minerals.

Dry sauna: Taking a dry sauna bath also helps in detoxification. As you sweat in a dry sauna it releases toxins, opens pores in the skin and the debris is washed away. Never forget to drink lots of fluids to rehydrate your body therafter.

So, these are some of the ways you can detoxify in a natural way.
