>If you have been cramped with too much work or academic pressure and do not want to spend the one weekend you have no socializing, you have reached the right place. Relaxation is recharging your body, mind, and soul, and what better way to relax than rejuvenating your skin?

In this excerpt below, we will be discussing a step-by-step guide to having a relaxing skincare day for yourself without having it feel like a task. Because for many, skincare falls into a routine or a task to keep their skin healthy.

The element of fun is somewhere lost there. So get all your fancy products out because this lazy Saturday afternoon, you are going to treat yourself.

A Relaxing Spa Day At Home

A relaxing spa day at home means you wouldn’t rush through your routine. Rather you will give yourself the time to lazily cross each step while pampering your skin.

A refreshing drink, some good food, a movie in the background, and some aroma therapy are all a big part of the self-care mission.

Things For Your Face

We will begin by explaining the different skincare products you will require and the step-by-step process. In this case, if you have not done this before.

1. Start With Cleansing Your Face

The cleansing routine is the first thing. Start with getting a mild face wash because the idea is to clean your canvas for the upcoming products and not strip all your natural oils. Then you will need a scrub or an exfoliator if you are not double cleansing (only required when you have makeup or sunscreen on).

You can use a physical scrub with small scrubbing particles in the item. However, recent studies have shown they cause microabrasion in the skin. Therefore, better use a chemical exfoliator that has an active agent treating your skin while clearing the dead skin.

2. A Revitalizing Face Mask

Once you are done with the wet cleansing part of the routine, it is time for the more relaxing part. First, a rejuvenating mask all over your skin. We would suggest a clay mask right after the exfoliator, as it further helps get the impurities off the face.

Try to match the clay mask with what your skin requires. For example, whether the focus is to clean acne or treat hyperpigmentation for pale skin care.

3. Face Sheet To Relax

Since both the chemical exfoliation and the clay mask could be a little drying to you, it is time to get some of the moisture back into your skin. A serum-infused sheet mask will do the job. Again the sheet should be treating your skin.

Which means it should be functional and not a waste of product. If your skin is excessively dry, we would suggest a hyaluronic acid mask for that extra nourishment. On the other hand, if purification is your goal, opt for a charcoal sheet mask.

4. Treat Your Eyes As Well

Do not forget your eyes when pampering your skin. You can get eye masks from the store. But doing it with a traditional cut cucumber would also do. It not only helps rejuvenate your under-eye but rests your eyes from excessive screen exposure.

Once you are done with the cleansing, massage a good cream (it doesn’t always have to be an eye cream) under your eyes. Use two fingers and move in an anti-clock motion (to prevent premature wrinkles).

5. Apply Post Cleansing & Give Yourself A Face Massage

Speaking of massaging, you could massage your serums and face moisturizers with the help of a jade roller. However, as New York-based dermatologist Dr. Shereene Idriss would say-

“You can do it with a spoon.”

Keep a spoon in the freezer for 10 minutes and proceed to massage it upwards your skin with the concave side.
