Opera is performed in the exquisite Peto cloister of Iford Manor. Sung in EnglishChristian Cunryn (winner of the BBC Music Magazine Opera Award) leads his Early Opera Company orchestra in an Iford Arts production of Monteverdi’s The Return of Ulysses, directed by Justin Way.

‘Ulysses, the wanderer, after 10 years of swashbuckling returns home…his loyal wife Penelope is fighting off the attentions of wolfish suitors.. will she be pleased to see him?’

12 piece World Music Cabaret Ensemble Orchestre Ruffanti serve up a musical buffet of Latin, Funk and Bossa Nova in the Casita. “bringing, gaiety and good old fashioned ‘pizzaz’” Songlines. In the Cloister 4 piece alt folk band Maia play what has been described as sci-fi folk pop “mumford and sons but with all the right production”

FINAL FLING – Saturday 9th August £34 FESTIVAL PROM   Two stunning bands perform in the exquisite Casita and Cloister at either end of the Grade 1 listed Peto gardens of Iford Manor.

Gypsy jazz quartet Gypsy Fire

Award winning, celtic roots and rabble-rousing funk folk band Mabon play the cloister “absolutely stunning, they should be headling all the major festivals!” Folkwaves.
