A Loving Mother's Heart

Fifty years down the line, would you endeavor to find your child, which you had to give up? Would you know how to stand face to face with the truth and with possible rejection? Probably not. But this woman - one of many – already has.

Philomena is a drama by Stephen Frears (creator of "The Queen", "Dirty Pretty Things" and "Fail Safe") which tells the story of a woman who decides to embark on a journey in search of her son. Why? For what? Because like so many other Irish teenagers who became pregnant, she was forced to give up her son and go to a convent. This is not fiction, but the story of actual events which took place in the 50s in Ireland when, in the name of decency and good reputation, young children were taken away from their mothers.
"Philomena" is a touching story about the heroic efforts of a mother who tries desperately to find her child. Does she succeed? Is it at all possible after such a long time? You will already know by the 29th of November, when the movie goes on the silver screen.
